Genealogy Family Tree's

By:  George Davidson

All my life I have been told that my natural Father was deceased and was missing in action while in the U. S. Army serving in Germany 1943.

In 1997 a fellow employee talked me into working on a Genealogy Family Tree that ended up in my finding my Father was alive and living in Iowa.

The Internet was just getting started with expanded abilities to search for genealogy information and in combination with the internet searches and a phone call, a possible link to my Father was found.

My Mother had given me photo’s of my Father as well as his parents.  I mailed them to this person and offered myself as his missing son that he may or may not have known existed.  In short, he could have said no, and ended the whole search, but as it turned out, he was my Father and I am so happy to have been accepted into the family.

It seems that he and my Mother were going together and planning a possible marriage but the relationship was not approved by Mother’s parents at the time.  Father was shipped off to Germany and all correspondence between Mother and Father were intercepted by Mother’s parents (whom she was living with at the time) and burnt in the old wood stove.  After some time, she was told that Father was deceased or missing in action.  Father was actually wounded and awarded a Purple Heart while in Germany and it seems he never realized he had a son who had been conceived before he was sent overseas.

Father just passed away less than a year ago. I am so proud to have had the opportunity to have found him and his wonderful wife who is an angel as well as my half-brother and sisters.

I have since located over 2500 links to my family tree. I have since started my own Genealogy Family Tree web site that offers a Senior Discount.

I have been able to help many other people find more family information and assist them in creating their family trees.
